Project xCloud is a revolutionary cloud gaming service offered by Microsoft that allows you to stream Xbox video games directly to your Android device. Unlike other cloud gaming services, Project xCloud does not require an Xbox console or any games installed on your device. Instead, it utilizes the power of the cloud to deliver an immersive gaming experience.
To enjoy the benefits of Project xCloud, you will need an Android device running on version 6.0 or higher, with Bluetooth version 4.0 and above. Additionally, you will need a compatible Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth, as touch control support is not available. You can also use an optional clip accessory to connect your device and controller for a seamless gaming experience. A stable 5GHz Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection of 10Mbps-down is also required.
Participating in Project xCloud is by invitation only, and you will need a Microsoft account to register for the service. If selected, you will receive an email with further instructions. Please note that the selection process may take some time, as the project is currently accepting a limited number of participants for its initial testing phase. However, the number of participants will gradually increase over time.
Once accepted into the program, you will need to install the Xbox Game Streaming App and log in using the account you registered with. Pair your mobile device and controller via Bluetooth or the gaming clip, and you're ready to dive into the extensive library of over 50 games available in the cloud. After playing, you can provide feedback on the dedicated Reddit forum for Project xCloud.
While Project xCloud may not be as fully developed as other cloud gaming services, such as Google Stadia or NVIDIA GeForce NOW, it offers a wide range of high-profile games for you to enjoy. The requirement of a controller and the application process may be a slight inconvenience, but it is still a promising contender in the cloud gaming competition.
